Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems
Fraunhofer IWES is comprised of two research institutes focused on wind energy and energy system technology. Its Bremerhaven-based institute focuses on engineering aspects of wind generation and its Kassel-based institute works on technology to integrate renewable energy like wind, solar and biomass into power supply structures. It develops and introduces new testing facilities and test methods and contributes its know-how to standardisation and guideline-setting bodies.
