Renewable Energies Agency

Agentur für Erneuerbare Energien

The Renewable Energies Agency is a communication platform funded by a group of 100 companies from the renewable energy sector, renewable energy associations (BEE, BWE, BWS, etc.) and two federal ministries (Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and Ministry of Food and Agriculture. According to their website, their objective is to: “[…] communicate the most important advantages of a sustainable energy supply on the basis of renewable energy. These include security of supply, innovation, employment, export potential, climate protection and the conservation of resources.” It works across party lines.

On various websites, the AEE provides (mostly in German) studies and expert contacts (www.energie-studien.de), information about the state of renewable development and the Energiewende in the German states (www.foederal-erneuerbar.de), information on renewable community projects (www.kommunal-erneuerbar.de) and the first combined renewable power plant (www.kombikraftwerk.de). On its main website (www.unendlich-viel-energie.de) there are news, facts, background papers (“renews”), figures and a large range of infographics (in the media library) available for download (free of charge for journalists).

The AEE does not give its own suggestions on how the Energiewende and particularly the EEG should be put into action.
