innogy SE

innogy is a German energy company, active in 16 countries across Europe. It is a carve-out of, and majority-owned (76.8 percent) by one of Germany's largest utilities, RWE AG. Consolidating RWE's business areas Grid & Infrastructure, Retail and Renewables under the newly founded entity, innogy's operations formally started on 1 April 2016. As of 7 October 2016, innogy is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. According to its website, innogy employs about 40,000 of the former total of around 60,000 employees of the RWE Group.
