Bundesnetzagentur

The Federal Network Agency supervises operators of energy supply networks together with federal state regulatory bodies. It ensures that all users can access and use the energy supply network on a non-discriminatory basis. The aim of energy regulation is to create conditions for increased competition in the markets for energy generation, trade and supply.
The agency is also responsible for tasks in connection with expanding the electricity grid and lawmakers have tasked it with ensuring more efficient licensing procedures and accelerated expansion of the grid.
