FNB Gas

Association of supra-regional gas transmission grid operators

FNB Gas is the association of gas transmission grid operators. It coordinates the technical exchange between its members, represents the positions of transmission system operators and is the contact for politicians and the public. FNB Gas publishes drafts for future gas grid development, including the role of hydrogen. With a length of approx. 40,000 km, the German transmission networks "form the backbone of the gas transport system in Germany," says FNB Gas. The gas networks ensure both the supply of German consumers and transit to neighbouring countries.
