Fraunhofer ISI is a research institution that specialises in innovation research. Its 24-million-euro annual budget is funded mainly through contracts with national and international public bodies, industry, foundations and scientific organisations. In around 380 ongoing projects, its 250 researchers assess the potential for and limitations of technical, organisational or institutional innovations and make recommendations based on their findings.
