Dr. Marcelo Lampkowski

Marcelo joined ICLEI’s Sustainable Resources, Climate and Resilience team in November 2020 as an Officer to work in projects such as BuiltHUB, MATRYCS and MICAT.
Before joining ICLEI European Secretariat, he worked as a Data Application Architect at FSC - Forest Stewardship Council (Bonn, Germany). He was also an Officer for Data & Knowledge Management at ICLEI World Secretariat (Bonn, Germany).
Marcelo has an academic background in three focus areas: Information Technology (IT); Business Management and Energy Systems applied to Agriculture. He has experience in developing and managing databases as well as its interrelated IT systems and API (Application Programming Interface) integration between different platforms and databases.
While researching to achieve his PhD, he worked in projects related to Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) at the Solar-Institut Jülich (Germany) and at the German Aerospace Center (DLR - Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) with computer simulation of CSP power plants.
He also has experience as an academic researcher, with several publications in journals and conferences related to IT and sustainability and as a university professor, lecturing in Brazilian public and private universities for 12 years.
