National Parks and Wildlife Service Ireland

It is part of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and manages and develops state-owned national parks and nature reserves; promotes awareness of biodiversity and natural heritage; ensures conservation of a wide range of ecosystems; oversees the implementation of EU and national directives; designates and advises on the protection of habitats and species identified for nature conservation.
