Grid operator

TransnetBW is one of four transimission grid operators in Germany (the others are Tennet, Amprion and 50Hertz). The company is responsible for operating, maintaining, planning and expanding the transmission network in Baden Württemberg. Here, over 3,300 kilometres of extra high voltage (EHV) power lines transmit voltages of 220 and 380kV across an area of 34,600 square kilometres.
