Geothermal power plant

The first German geothermal power plant was built in the northern city of Neustadt-Glewe in 2003. This plant was the first to operate with the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology at a low temperature. This first project proved that the generation of electricity from geothermal sources at low temperature levels was possible in Germany.
