Paola Lepori

Paola joined ICLEI Europe in February 2025 as Senior Expert in the Biodiversity and Nature-based Solutions Team. Her role involves developing and coordinating the Team’s policy and advocacy work; representation duties; coordinating and implementing projects activities; developing and coordinating the Team’s capacity-building activities. She’s currently involved in NetworkNature, the Berlin Urban Nature Pact, NBS EduWORLD, the UrbanByNature programme, GoNaturePositive, SOLO, NBRACER, UNP+, SPADES, NetZeroCities.
Prior to joining ICLEI Europe, Paola worked for almost 8 years at the European Commission in communication and policy roles. In her latest role, she worked at the interface of science and policy, promoting the mainstreaming of biodiversity considerations and nature-based solutions across policy domains. Before joining the Commission, Paola worked as a writer and editor for international relations newspapers in Italy.
Paola holds a political science master’s degree in international relations and cooperation, from the Roma Tre University.
