Senior Expert in Resilience and Climate Adaptation

Luca is an architect and a sustainable urban development practitioner. By working in international organisations, such as ICLEI Europe and Metropolis since 2019, he acquired high skills in urban resilience and climate adaptation. In particular, Luca’s expertise covers the fields of disaster risk reduction and just transition – the latter with a specific focus on gender mainstreaming in co-creation and stakeholder engagement. Only team member based in Brussels, he is highly involved in the development of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change (through projects such as Pathways2Resilience, CLIMATEFIT, REGILIENCE and CARDIMED) and the Covenant of Mayors – Europe’s pillar on adaptation. He has worked on different climate adaptation-related projects, funded by the European Union, such as ARCH, proGIreg, MULTISOURCE and RethinkAction. Luca has also experience as a climate adaptation consultant for local governments.
Luca also worked in sustainability research and as an architect, focusing on co-design and co-creation of urban spaces.
He holds a master degree in international cooperation and emergency architecture from the International University of Catalonia (Barcelona) and a master degree in architecture from the University of Ferrara (Italy).
