Expert in socio-cultural transformations
Stephania Xydia joined ICLEI Europe in July 2020 as Social & Governance Innovation Officer. As part of the Cultural Heritage team, she focuses on Sustainability Culture & Cultural Transitions, participating in EU projects that promote urban regeneration and rural renaissance (ROCK, CLIC, RURITAGE). In the past, she has gained international experience as a consultant and trainer in Cultural Management, Strategic Communication and Social Innovation, working with organisations and communities that seek relevance, reach and resilience. She has worked for the international theatre company EllinikoTheatro as Managing Director, the National Library of Greece as Audience Development Manager, the City of Athens as External Advisor and the GROW Observatory as Community Catalyst. She is also co-founder of Place Identity Clusters, a non-profit organisation developing civic engagement projects for urban regeneration and political innovation in Greece. Her work has been awarded in competitions such as the European Investment Bank Social Innovation Tournament (2011), the Bloomberg Philanthropies Mayors Challenge (2014) and the Greek Design Awards (2018).
