E.ON

Utility

E.ON is a major investor-owned energy supplier and one of Germany's biggest utilities, based in Düsseldorf. At the end of 2015, the company employed about 56,600 people and had a power generation capacity of 45,335 megawatts. Itself being the result of a merger between industrial companies VEBA and VIAG in 2000, E.ON split-off its fossil energy business into the subsidiary Uniper SE in 2016 in order to focus on renewable energy sources, grids and customer solutions.
