Absie has been a full-time journalist the last nine years and worked with several media outlets in Somalia, but recently founded a new media initiative called GREEN MEDIA INITIATIVE - GMI. GMI is Somalia’s first green media hub, committed to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. Thier work includes producing documentaries, films, messages, radio programs and podcasts focusing on Environment, climate impact, Agriculture and Green Energy. By uniting senior journalists, agronomists, environmentalists, and climate activists, we amplify green initiatives and drive meaningful change. They help local communities to adopt climate-resilient practices and innovative technologies to promote domestic production. Their mission is also include to transform public perspectives on the green sectors including using green energy, through engaging media, outreach, and education programs.
