German economy minister should not call for climate action but rather deliver it - opinion

Energy minister Peter Altmaier correctly said that Germany needs a new approach to climate action by the government and businesses, but it is now up to him and Chancellor Angela Merkel to do exactly that, Alexandra Endres writes in an op-ed for Zeit Online. “But the federal government is treating the global climate crisis with weird indifference,” she says. So far, Altmaier has rejected any vital reforms that could advance climate action, such as a national CO2 price, Endres writes.
