BAFA - Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control

The BAFA is a federal authority that handles administrative tasks in foreign trade, promotion of eocnomic development and energy. It is subordinated to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). In the energy sector, the BAFA implements measures to promote better use of renewable energies, enegy efficiency and participates in crisis-contingency measures in the oil sector, as well as working with German coal sector.
