BDI - Federation of German Industries

Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie

The BDI represents 37 German industry associations, claiming to represent the interests of 100,000 businesses with eight million employees.  The BDI advocates free competition and regularly calls for an investment-friendly environment in Germany. The BDI has described the current design of the energy transition a “hazard scenario” for electricity intensive industries. It fears damage to the international competitiveness of its members. With the new EEG, industry will bear an “even heavier burden”, the BDI points out.
