Climeworks

Swiss start-up Climeworks has pioneered the direct air capture technology (DAC) with which CO2 can be removed from the atmosphere and subsequently be recycled, used as a raw material, or completely removed from the air by underground storage. In September 2021, Climeworks launched “Orca” the world’s first and largest DAC plant with permanent storage via “Carbfix”, in Iceland.
