The NewClimate Institute for Climate Policy and Global Sustainability aims to develop new ideas on climate policy and to promote their implementation. It provides expertise in climate negotiations, carbon market mechanisms, development and climate finance. It also has significant expertise on the subject of company climate claims, having produced the renowned Corporate Climate Responsibility Monitor and many other publications. NewClimate Institute has offices in Cologne and Berlin. Its flagship projects are "Climate Action Tracker" and "ACT 2015". NewClimate Institute is an independent non-profit limited liability company (gGmbH) registered in Germany. It was founded by seven partners, which together are the only shareholders and the only employees. The institute is financed through research projects.
