Open Grid Europe

Essen-based Open Grid Europe (OGE) is the largest of 16 gas transmission grid operators in Germany by length of the network. It manages 12,000 kilometres of pipelines all over Germany, equal to the length of the country’s infamous Autobahn system. Core activities include the design and construction of pipelines from conceptual design, project management and engineering on to implementation, the operation of the pipeline system including maintenance and repair as well as control and monitoring of the network, and capacity management and marketing.
