Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE)

In 2007, the regulatory bodies for electricity (ANRE) and natural gas (ANRGN) were merged under the name of the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE). In 2010, ANRE took over the activities of the Romanian Agency for Energy Conservation (ARCE), assuming responsibility for monitoring and implementing energy efficiency measures and promoting the use of renewable energy sources by the final consumers.
