Decentralised citizen power: energy cooperative Rehfelde
Elsholzstr.6
15345
Rehfelde, Brandenburg
Germany
In 2011 the Rehfelde community in Brandenburg declared its intention to become energy self-sufficient. It developed a master plan and founded the citizen cooperative association Rehfelde-EigenEnergie eG to advance a bottom-up energy transition. It has since completed several projects, including the installation of several PV projects and the establishment of a wind park, to achieve a local, stable and independent energy supply. Plans for the future revolve around solar energy, power-to-gas technology, e-mobility and biogas plants.
