Yannis-Orestis Papadimitriou

Athens, Greece

Yannis-Orestis Papadimitriou works as a journalist for The Manifold, a non-profit, investigative outfit with members in Athens, Nicosia and London, founded in 2018. They do in-depth journalism in the public interest, focusing on complex issues that require long-term commitment to illuminate, contextualise and monitor.

In 2020, The Manifold launched its platform, The Manifold Files, which allows investigations to be published in their full scope, as interconnected series of stories, featuring their full documentation as well as an index of people and organizations involved. The goal is to create a resource for each investigation, to which the interested reader can turn in order to delve deep into the subject, its history, its context, and its evolution, as well as a monitor for important ongoing issues, where updates can be published in context.

One of the Files the Manifold is currently working on is about the current developments in the Greek energy sector and will examine what these signify for EU climate policy and other transnational issues.

Yannis is also the host of the weekly podcast The Archipelago on Movement Radio, as well as a freelancer for various outlets in Greece and abroad.
