VW and Ford are exploring joint development of electric and self-drive technology as part of a wider-ranging partnership, report Ben Klayman and Jan Schwartz for Reuters. “It is no secret that our industry is undergoing fundamental change, resulting from widespread electrification, ever-stricter emissions regulation, digitalisation, the shift to autonomous driving and, not least, changing customer preferences,” Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess told reporters and analysts on a conference call, the article says.
