Wuppertal Institut

Founded in 1991, the Wuppertal Institute was set up as an interdisciplinary research unit to cover the subjects climate change, energy and policy. It analyses and provides strategies for transitions to sustainable development. Among others, it has research groups for “Future Energy and Mobility Structures” and “Energy, Transport and Climate Policy”. Studies are aimed at the scientific world, the general public and decisions makers in the political sphere.

The Wuppertal Institute is a non-profit organisation funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
