Silvia Assalini

Silvia joined the ICLEI’s Sustainable Resources, Climate and Resilience in 2018 starting to work mainly on two different streams: from the one hand side she dealt with projects of city cooperation with a strong international component that goes beyond European boundaries (European Covenant of Mayors, International Urban Cooperation and Urban LEDS II- Low Emission Development Strategies) with the aim of strengthening and localizing SDGs as well as link up cities and regions with major global initiatives. On the other hand side, she is involved in project related with community energy and renewable energy production with citizens at its core (PROSEU, DECIDE). Within this framework Silvia has the chance to work in direct contact with local community in co-creation processes, to support capacity building programs but also to closely follow the development of the EU policy. Silvia is also actively participating in the Community Power Coalition which is advocating for a socially fair energy transformation. Lately, Silvia supported the work of her team in engaging youth in climate action via the organization of events and open discussions.
