The Bionenergy Park is central to Saerbeck’s goal to switch its entire energy production to renewable sources by 2030. Situated on an old German army ordnance depot, the Bioenergy Park has been home to a variety of renewable energy sources since 2011. The future plan is to eventually operate seven wind turbines, two biomass installations, a composting plant, as well as photovoltaic facilities.
