French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE)
Independent public body created in 2000 to regulate France’s electricity and gas markets. Supervises grid development and electricity market transactions. Makes sure that access to grids is non-discriminatory for all plants, suppliers and producers. Promotes deployment of renewable energies in Europe. Involved in multilateral cooperation efforts. Part of Regulae.fr, a French-speaking network of energy regulators, and MEDREG, the association of Mediterranean regulators.
