We are looking for a student assistant events and climate journalism network (m/f/d) for 10-20 hours/week in Berlin, to start immediately.

The non-profit projects Clean Energy Wire CLEW and klimafakten.de support journalists and others interested in climate communication. Initiated by Stiftung Mercator and the European Climate Foundation (ECF), CLEW offers daily news on energy and climate policy, fact sheets and background materials in English. We connect journalists with interview partners, organise workshops, events and study trips for journalists, which provide access to experts and energy transition projects, and maintain a growing network of international journalists.

We are looking for a student to support the event organisation (Media Programmes) and network department, to start at the earliest possible date:

Student support for 10-20 h/week in Berlin.

You will be involved in the implementation and organisation of a wide range of tasks:

  • Communication at all levels – with participants, network members and speakers, the team, hotels or caterers. Verbal and written, digital and personal, planned and spontaneous.

  • Collaboration in the organisation and implementation of online and offline events, internal and external communication about the event as well as its logistical preparation.

  • Maintaining the network of journalists and other CLEW contacts in the CMS (contact management system).

  • Assisting with the supervision and updating of orders and invoices as well as the preparatory activities for the accounting department.

What you should bring:

  • An interest in working in the event and administrative support sector.

  • Interest in and experience with communication and dealing with people.

  • A high degree of motivation and the ability to work in a team.

  • Good written and spoken German and very good knowledge of English.
