Get involved – CLEW focus project on 2024 EU elections

How can journalists get involved?

Join our CLEW Journalism Network

The CLEW Journalism Network was launched based on the understanding that cross-border perspectives lead to better climate and energy journalism. Journalists can join this global network to find collaboration partners, receive and give cross-border support and keep up to date with CLEW’s work and the opportunities we offer.

For this focus project, we also seek input on our plans and coverage from journalists in our network, and have commissioned some to cover key European topics and write our 'Dispatches from...' series.

Grants: Call for cross-border journalism on just transition, leaving no one behind in Europe’s green transition

Europe's aim of becoming the world's first climate neutral continent by 2050 will have significant social and economic implications, creating both major opportunities and challenges for workers and communities around the world. The question on how the bloc can ensure that no one is left behind is at the heart of a just transition. What impact will EU climate policies have on workers inside and outside its borders; which industries and regions are likely to need and receive support; how does a just transition come into play in international climate agreements to support the shift away from fossil fuels?

Clean Energy Wire invited journalists worldwide to collaborate and our jury rewarded three teams: one covering women rebuilding their lives in a post-coal economy in India and Germany; a second on railway investments in Albania; and finally what Europe's green hydrogen ambitions will mean for the Maghreb region. Their first pieces will come out in April.
