Vote2017: German parties' energy & climate policy positions

Germany’s Energiewende is a project that enjoys backing from almost all of the country’s relevant political parties. But apart from the general intention to decarbonise the economy by the middle of the century and abide by the goals set forth in the Paris Climate Agreement, opinions over the speed and steps necessary to achieve this vary greatly between the political camps. CLEW takes a look at the election manifestos of Germany’s six largest parties and shows where their approaches differ on a coal exit, e-cars, emissions trading and other energy and climate topics.
